Chris Placke is our Director of Student Ministries. He graduated from the University of Rio Grande in 2011 with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology and an Associate's Degree in Fine Woodworking. He currently works as a Senior Process Engineering Technician in Dayton. He is married to Katie Placke, who is the Office Administrator here at FBC. If you can’t find him in the halls of FBC, he is most likely at home building furniture or enjoying time with his wife and two Labradors, Toby and Benson.
Chris accepted God into his life as his Lord and Savior when he was 12 years old. It wasn’t until he went to college and got involved in a ministry on campus (S.E.A.R.C.H.) that he began to build a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He has been actively involved in Teen and Young Adult ministries ever since. Now his heart continues to desire to make disciples by using Jesus’ example. Mark 3:14, 2 Timothy 2:2, Matthew 28:19-20.
Katie started attending FBC Troy in 2000 and has been here ever since! She accepted Christ into her life in 2002 and was baptized here at FBC that same year.
Katie is married to our Director of Student Ministries, Chris Placke, and they have two Labradors who they lovingly consider to be their children, Toby and Benson. She serves alongside Chris in our Youth Group, Ignite, as a Youth Leader. Through Chris’ woodworking and Katie’s painting, they run their own part time business creating furniture and home décor #willowcottageco. If she isn’t found running around the FBC Office, you can often find her right next to Chris figuring out what DIY project they can get their hands on next.
Katie loves serving the Lord in different ministries at FBC Troy and is thankful to have the opportunity to be used as an instrument of God here at FBC! Mark 10:45; Matthew 6:33; Matthew 28:19-20
Candace moved with her family to Troy, Ohio, in August of 1999 and has attended FBC ever since! She met her husband, Brett, right here at FBC and they now have two beautiful daughters, Lindsey and Grace, and a crazy little dog, Reagan, who they lovingly consider to be their “first daughter.”
Candace attended Edison State Community College and graduated from Word of Life Bible Institute in 2006. Her office experience began in 2006 at Oakley Chiropractic in Troy, followed by nearly 7 years as Office Manager at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, and in Fall of 2013 she began working in the office here at FBC Troy. She also enjoys baking on the side! #candacescupcakes
She loves working and serving the Lord through FBC Troy and looks forward to all that God has planned for this ministry!
